How does mPOWR work?
- mPOWR provides a peer-to-peer platform between you, other funders and like-minded entrepreneurs in the developing world. mPOWR ensures that every business you fund is committed to social responsibility, profitability and community impact.
- Each business owner is recommended by a trusted reference, practically trained and mentored through viable experienced field partners and then rated by a qualified Field Partner based on character, experience, profitability, social impact and connectivity.
- You mPOWR a socially responsible entrepreneur in the developing world through either a donation or an interest-bearing loan.
Tell me about the mPOWR process.
- mPOWR is a portal of information to learn about opportunities to fund a business in a developing country. mPOWR offers no advice or recommendations.
- mPOWR provides an avenue through which donors/lenders can empower a business for maximum social and community impact.
- mPOWR transfers monies on behalf of the donor/lender. Interest on loans is charged by the lenders only.

Where do the monies actually go?
- mPOWR establishes a “trust” account for tax deductible donations with each 501c3 Field Partner that forwards the funds directly to the entrepreneur.
- mPOWR transfers each interest-bearing loan directly to the entrepreneur through its Field Partners.
- mPOWR charges a processing fee for each business funded, plus offers business development products to Field Partners and entrepreneurs.
I am a potential funder…what do I do next?
- register at www.mpowr.org
- search funding opportunities by country, type of business, amount funded, etc.
- deposit funds to your mPOWR online account
- select a business to mPOWR
- give charitably or through an interest bearing loan
- funds sent via charitable donation will be acknowledged by the field partner organization’s 501(c)3 organization with a tax-deductible receipt to the donor
- funds are securely transferred and personally delivered to the entrepreneur
- track the progress of the business and its impact in the surrounding community
I am a potential Field Partner…what are my next steps?
- receive a personal invitation from the CEO
- register as a general user at www.mpowr.org
- once logged in, apply to be a field partner at www.mpowr.org/fieldpartner-apply.php.
- mPOWR will review your application and set up an interview to:
- review your entrepreneur training/mentoring systems
- evaluate your business rating process
- Once accepted as a field partner,
- secure and integrate mPOWR financial tracking infrastructure
- complete a PEACE assessment online and receive a Field Partner PEACE rating
- read and sign an electronic MOU between your organization and mPOWR
- upload qualified business opportunities to the mPOWR website for funding
- As businesses are funded, submit regular entrepreneur updates online

KIN has 10 years experience in micro and small business development, provides national leadership in literacy and leadership development, offers quality business owner training and maintains a priority emphasis on profitability and community impact.
- mPOWR has partnered with KIN to provide world class, yet customized, small business training to both new and growing entrepreneurs. Currently KIN is in the vetting process and anticipates 100 qualified business opportunities within the year.
